HumiSeal announces the official opening of Indian manufacturing facility.

30th September 2019 – HumiSeal is proud to announce that following a period of significant investment, testing and proving, HumiSeal will officially open its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Pune, India. Although HumiSeal has been active in India for over 25 years its materials had historically been shipped from other manufacturing facilities in the UK, USA or Japan. This latest development will allow the company to better serve its Indian customer base with improved lead times as well as technical and sales support to its three primary Indian Distributors.

The site was acquired by HumiSeal in 2016 With work beginning on the expansion of both the physical buildings and infrastructure including roads, improved electrical provision soon after. The investment also had a positive impact on the local community providing work for many locals during the building phase as well as full time positions at HumiSeal India Private Ltd. These roles include a new General manager, Quality Control Technicians and manufacturing/operations positions to ensure that the facility runs smoothly and provide better support to its distributors and customers.

The new facility will officially be opened on 30 September 2019 in a ceremony that will be attended by key personnel from HumiSeal, Chase Corporation (HumiSeal’s parent company) distributors, local media and a delegation from the Indian arm of the UK Department of Trade & Industry. The factory will also receive an official blessing ceremony on the day from a priest in line with local customs.

EMEIA Manager for HumiSeal, Chris Palin commented on the announcement by saying:

“The opening of this Indian facility marks the end of the initial phases of acquisition, investment and development. I believe we now have a facility that is second to none in terms of the levels of manufacturing equipment technology, and product quality. Although the factory will primarily support the Indian market, it will also join our other manufacturing sites around the world to deliver manufacturing redundancy to our wider customer base around the globe.”

Bulk manufacture of a range of HumiSeal’s highly successful and popular legacy products is already underway. These include 1B18, 1B73 and 1A33. The Indian factory will also manufacture the entire range of HumiSeal’s aerosol products which are highly popular in the Indian market.

Speaking about the new facility, the newly appointed General Manager, Churchill Jebastibe, commented:

“The climate and environmental conditions here in India posed some unique challenges with regards to building a manufacturing plant that was able to effectively control the quality and repeatability of our coating materials. High levels of Humidity, dust and temperatures all had to be controlled so that we could be sure that the range of product manufactured here would remain consistent with products manufactured at other HumiSeal plants. The investment in to our extraction systems, air conditioning and environmentally sealed containers allow us to control this process precisely.

The management team of HumiSeal India Private Ltd looks forward to being able to serve the Indian market from this 21st century manufacturing facility.
