CIM Warranties: Explained
A waterproofing warranty is a legally binding agreement which a company guarantees that some or all its work will be free of defects for a specific length of time. Warranties are normally approved and signed by both the owner of the project (the asset owner) and a representative of the company manufacturing the product.

Explaining CIM Materials-Only Warranties
CIM offers a Materials-Only warranty. These warranties state CIM will repair or replace waterproofing material in the event of system failure due to defects in the physical CIM material. Please note, defects or failures resulting from application errors or extraneous factors are not covered by CIM warranties.
To cover a project with a CIM warranty, a standard warranty registration form should be completed and submitted to a CIM representative. The terms of the warranty will be negotiated and may include explicit and required precautions during application.

Quality Assurances: Essential Application Guidelines
Warranties typically cover a five-year period, but the longest warranties span up to 20-25 years. Warranty duration primarily correlates to material thickness. Additional factors include:
- Contracting a certified, Factory-Trained applicator (required in all warranties)
- Demonstrating past application experience with CIM materials
- Meeting a range of environmental criteria, including dew point and humidity
- Ensuring the proper tools and supervision at the time of application
- Passing inspection with an on-site CIM representative

The warranty takes effect when material application complies with all conditions documented within the Quality Assurance section of the contract.
