Maflowrap 900® – Bitumen cold applied tape system

Maflowrap® 900 – Bitumen Cold Applied Tape System

MAFLOWRAP® 900 – Bitumen Tape

Maflowrap 900 is a highly conformable and tough PE (polyethylene) /Bitumen cold-applied tape system that is ideally suited for use on small-to medium-diameter pipework, tees, bends, and other complex shapes. The cross-laminated HDPE carrier is engineered for superior impact resistance as well as being compliant to fit around the most challenging metal structures. Maflowrap 900 is suitable for both buried and open applications as the HDPE (high-density polyethylene) film offers long-term UV resistance. The bituminous rubber adhesive has been developed to create a stable base for a wide range of temperature applications to afford excellent corrosion resistance. Maflowrap 900 is fully compatible with all other Maflowrap and Serviwrap pipeline products.

  • conforms to complex pipes, bends, and tees; pliable and easy to apply, reducing the risk to joints of water ingress
  • UV resistant backing; no additional outer wraps required, lessening application time and cost
  • polyethylene backing reduces the risk of creasing and eases application with increased flexibility
  • strong impact-resistant backing diminishes chances of external damage to substrates
  • long-term corrosion protection to complex substrates
  1. Remove metal burrs and other projections, all loose matter, and any existing coatings, dirt, rust and foreign debris.
  2. Use solvent to remove oil and grease.
  3. Apply Maflowrap B400 primer.
  4. Using a Chase wrapping machine or wrapping by hand, apply Maflowrap 900 with tension, creating a 55% overlap.
