A general purpose water blocking shield tape which typically performs as an overall or individual pair shield in electronic cable. One side has a water swellable coating which prevents movement of water through the length of the cable. The water blocking action allows the cable to pass Bellcore Water Penetration Tests (TR-NWT-000421, Sections 5.4.6.1 and 5.4.6.2) for many cable geometries.
