CIM 500

CIM 500 – Durable Waterproofing Membrane

CIM 500 is a tough, durable membrane specifically formulated to meet waterproofing demands in a buried and non-UV exposed application.

It adheres to most materials to form a permanent, seamless barrier to water.

It is well suited for plaza and podium decks, curbs, and areas containing multiple penetrations or irregular shapes, as well as split-slab applications.

Available in both a vertical and horizontal grade.

CIM 500 Premix CIM 500V Premix for Vertical Surfaces
  • tough, durable physical properties
  • forms strong adhesive bond to concrete, wood, metal, and earth (with scrim fabric)
  • applied by spray, brush, roller, or squeegee
  • fast cure, high tensile strength, low VOC
  • lower water permeability than competitive urethanes
  • open to foot traffic within 3 hours
  • UV stable for as long as 180 days
  • little to no sloping is required
  • chemically stable when subjected to constant moisture
  • can be applied in low-temperature applications
  • simple repair to existing installations
  • planter boxes
  • plaza and podium decks
  • green roof applications
  • split-slab applications
  • below-grade applications
  • apply by spray, brush, roller, or squeegee.
  • apply to clean, dry, & sound surfaces free of dirt and debris.
  • can be applied to concrete substrates having a (CSP 4-6) surface profile.
  • mix and apply the following CIM industries application guides.
  • use CIM 500V on all vertical surfaces and use CIM 500 on all horizontal surfaces

What architectural finishes are compatible?

For CIM 500, thin-set and tile, pedestal paver systems, decorative aggregate.

What are environmental concerns for cold fluid applied vs sheet membranes ?

CIM 500 is UV stable for 180 days.

What is the cure/in-service time for cold fluid applied?

Typically, CIM 500 can be placed in service within 24-48 hours. Contact C.I.M. Industries for specific recommendations.

What is the application temperature range for cold fluid applied?

Surface should be at least 50°F (10°C) and must be 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. CIM 500 should be at least 50°F (10°C) when mixed and applied. CIM 500 may be preheated to facilitate application at low temperatures, but working time will be reduced.
